HealthCare, Hendersonville is owned and operated by National HealthCare Corporation,
founded in June 1971 by Dr. Carl E. Adams, a physician and lifelong resident of
Tennessee, who had a vision to provide higher quality healthcare services for
seniors. Dr. Adams began by adding
skilled nursing services, registered nurses, and rehabilitative services for NHC
healthcare centers. Along with
providing high quality healthcare services at each center, NHC developed the
first computerized patient assessment program, and developed an excellence
program for all of its healthcare centers that exceeds state and federal
regulations. As a result, NHC’s Quality Assurance Program has been
recognized as one of the best in the country.
Dr. Adams also founded The Foundation for Geriatric Education (TFGE) to
encourage the development of geriatric education in medical schools; and
instituted a dietetic internship program that NHC continues to sponsor. National Healthcare Corporation’s
headquarters are in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
